Prepare for employment in a dental office through classroom instruction and a supervised internship experience. Students develop skills in dental terminology, appointment scheduling, reception and telephone techniques, patient treatment coordination, dental procedures, records management, billing and collections, word processing applications, and dental insurance processing. Through hands-on training in an authentic dental practice setting, students apply industry-standard procedures while developing professionalism, communication, customer service, confidentiality, and workplace readiness skills.
To meet UC/CSU admission requirement (“G” credit), students must complete the semester and earn a grade of 70% or better.
Certification: Students will have an opportunity to earn an American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers card. Students may attend one five-hour session on a weekday evening or a Saturday for the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers card. Sessions are held at local schools or the Presidio Campus in Costa Mesa. Students will sign up online during the second week of class.
Class meets on Tuesdays ( Virtual ) and Thursdays ( In- Person) , from 3:00 to 6:00 PM
