Applied Manufacturing Systems (Semester ) - Laguna Hills HS

This advanced course provides students with hands-on experience in a simulated manufacturing environment that mirrors modern industry practices. Students will apply engineering and manufacturing principles while participating in production processes that emphasize workplace safety, quality control, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Through collaborative projects, students will learn and implement lean manufacturing concepts, process mapping, inventory management, assembly line operations, and problem-solving strategies. Students will analyze production systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop solutions that increase productivity and product quality. Using industry-standard tools, equipment, and manufacturing techniques, students will gain technical and professional skills valued by employers. This course prepares students for postsecondary education and careers in manufacturing, engineering, industrial technology, logistics, and related fields.

Engineering and Manufacturing Internship ( Semester ) - Laguna Hills HS

Take your engineering and manufacturing skills beyond the classroom and into the real world! In this internship-based course, students will apply engineering principles, problem-solving techniques, and advanced manufacturing skills while gaining hands-on experience in a local engineering or manufacturing business. Learn how to design, prototype, and refine projects using industry-standard tools, 3D modeling, and CNC technology. This course emphasizes professional skills like teamwork, communication, and critical thinking—everything you need to succeed in the workplace. If you’re serious about engineering, design, or manufacturing, this internship will give you real-world experience to set you apart!
Prerequisites:Successful completion of a foundational engineering or manufacturing course is required.
Must be at least 16 years old, an incoming junior or senior, and have completed at least one semester of engineering principles, 3D modeling, or manufacturing with a grade of 80% or higher.
