Students participating in a Coastline ROP classes must adhere to the policies and procedures of their assigned site.  This may include being vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19.

Honors / UC / Articulated / 10 credits (must be a high school senior to enroll)

Learn about a career as an ambulance attendant or emergency room technician. EMT certification increases opportunities to obtain a position as a lifeguard, firefighter, search and rescue team member, or ski patrol team.

To meet UC/CSU admission requirement (“D” credit), students must complete the semester and earn a grade of 70% or better.

IMPORTANT NOTICE 1: Health occupations classes include the study of reproductive and other systems and require practicing procedures on other students and/or patients, both male, and female, of differing ages. Participation in these activities is required for a certificate of completion and continuation in the career pathway. Additionally, these classes may require heavy lifting and bending. Lastly, some programs require the submission of personal information, such as DOB and social security numbers, with state agencies and/or clinical internship partners due to licensing and security clearance requirements.

IMPORTANT NOTICE 2: Public Services classes are designed to give students both the theory and hands-on experience in the skills and knowledge required in these fields. Classroom instruction may include real depictions of graphic or violent content. Some topics in the Administration of Justice and Crime Scene Investigation classes may be sensitive to high school students. Lastly, some programs require the submission of personal information, such as DOB and social security numbers, with state agencies and/or clinical internship partners due to licensing and security clearance requirements.

Certification: FEMA Incident Command System 100, 200, 700, and 800 Eligible to take the National Registry EMT-Basic certification exam upon successful completion of the course. Successful completion includes all of the following: 1) 80% or better overall grade, 2) 80% or better on the final exam, 3) 80% or better on the skills final, 4) completion of 24 clinical hours, 5) on-time completion of the FEMA Incident Command System 100, 200, 700 and 800 online modules.

Prerequisites: Students must bring a copy of current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers card to the first class meeting. 

Required Materials: Blue pants and white shirt.

Required Hours: Students must complete 24 clinical hours, dates and times to be determined.

Class meets on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM plus 2 Skills Saturdays, dates TBD, time 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Learn the skills needed to work in the baking & pastry industry. Acquire knowledge in proper equipment handling, product identification,  terminology, baking, and pastry preparation and production techniques. Master the basics of making breads, cakes, wedding cake decoration, and plate presentation. 

To meet the UC/CSU admission requirements (“G” credit), students must complete the semester and earn a grade of 70% or better.

Certification: Students have the opportunity to earn the California Food Handlers Card.

Cybersecurity prepares students for real world Cyber security basics and Security Analyst & Vulnerability Analyst tasks. Students will learn real cyber security skills and perform real work scenarios with actual companies. This course provides students with hands-on knowledge and skills to prepare them for careers in Cybersecurity and information and communication technology.

To meet UC/CSU admission requirement (“G” credit), students must complete the course and earn a grade of 70% or better.

Required Hours: Class meets virtually on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30PM to 6:30PM, plus 3 hours of offline work per week.
